Hanging, climbing and straight-arm loading
Elbow, wrist and hand pain in aerial and pole
If your grip goes before your arms do, or your wrist complains every time you take weight through a straight arm, this is the page.
What it usually is
This is the area that takes the most repetition and gets the least conditioning. Grip, forearm and wrist problems are usually a mismatch between how much you are asking of them and how much you have built them up to take.
What an assessment looks at
How you grip, how long you can hold, and what your wrist and elbow are doing while you do it.
What you can usually keep doing
Often a lot, with a change to how you grip and how long you hold. This is one of the areas where small changes buy the most training back.
How long it usually takes
It is anything from a one-off drop in to a few weeks, depending on what you are working towards.
